"Sun in mountains" an impressionistic oil mountain landscape etude painting. This is an original oil painting on a 18 x 24 cm canvas on board.
This painting was created "en plein air" in the mountains while I was doing trekking in Crimea. I took with me my small easel and canvas on board to catch the beauty of mountains. This etude was painted right before the sunset began when the last sun lights were showing on the mountain creating such light and dark contrast!
The artwork is painted in an impressionistic manner with impasto texture.
