I painted this courtyard as if recalling a forgotten dream.
The warm walls of the houses breathed sunlight and old time.
I applied the paint thickly, almost stubbornly, to capture their character.
I left the sky alive and careless—the way it is at midday.
The staircase leads the eye upward, to where silence hides.
The greenery below feels like a breath of life among stone and plaster.
I wasn’t chasing precision, but a feeling—light, slightly тревожное.
Every window here seems to look back at me.
This courtyard doesn’t exist literally—it’s assembled from impressions.
And perhaps there is more of me in it than of any real place.
