Summer meadow and Oak trees
High summer,
I find a bench to sit and paint outside,
A peaceful place to admire the nature,
I begin with the sky,
.Many different shades of earthy greens,
The deep crimson red poppies and wild flowers.

Words and expression of painting outside in a beautiful place.
I used textured cold pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb. I applied wet on wet washes for the sky and background. I then made different shades of earthy greens for the oak trees, pressing and dabbing the paint on to build up the shapes. I created the flower work with wetting the paper and dropping the colours on. I dragged up and down with my Chinese brush for the grasses and scraped out the paint with my nail.
I would like to thank my ladies sketching group that had told me that the poppy meadow patch with wild flowers had appeared in the Silton village church graveyard.. When I go back there next time it will all be gone.
All my original watercolours are signed, dated and titled on the back.
