Landscape of Auvergne, in the very heart of France.

Here, from the Pic du Lizieux, I sought to capture the harmony between the shifting sky and the gentleness of the land: the slow drift of the clouds, driven by the great wind that sweeps across the high plateaus, and their shadows gliding over the curves of the landscape.
There is nothing monumental here. Just a humble vastness. You can feel the dormant volcanoes beneath these peaceful undulations. You can sense the discreet human life, nestled in a hollow, almost absorbed by the scenery.
In the distance, the shapes fade. The emblematic peaks of my region are lost in a bluish, almost ethereal haze. It is there that time stretches, that distance becomes a meditation.

The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
