Summer on the Massif du Mézenc goes beyond the mere subject matter: I painted an atmosphere, a vibrant light, and, above all, the overwhelming scale of the elements.

I was utterly captivated by the formation of these gigantic summer cumulus clouds. Through dynamic brushwork, I sought to convey the breath of the wind and the raw, almost untamed energy of the high-altitude weather.

Nestled within the vast green expanses, illuminated by sudden bursts of light, you can glimpse a few farms—fragile traces of civilization in a landscape that infinitely overshadows them. Here, human presence commands nothing. It remains small and humble, huddled against the trees for shelter from the gusts and the sheer immensity of this sky.

A true escape into the vastness, this artwork offers the eye a pause, a moment to contemplate nature at its most grandiose and soothing.

This artwork will be packaged rolled in a tube. Once stretched by a framer, the white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.
