Original artwork description:

Oil painting of Sulphur ejections through the yellow rock in Vulcano, Italy with two central figures, scientists , measuring Sulphur levels during volcanic activity . One of my recent returns to oil painting, on thin plywood . For this piece I worked from a photo in a book about volcanos, but fit well with my explorations of memories visiting strange and beautiful Italian volcanic islands. A weird light of a night in the daytime , shaded by volcanic cloud and daylight breaking through lighting up the alien landscape of yellow rock seeping sulphuric gasses .
