Any time and anywhere on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides you can expect so many weather patters and atmospheres. Sullen skies, a chink of light drama through the heavy clouds, sudden squals that kick up chaos in the regimented swell, a radiant beam of light that illuminates the beautiful azure and turquoise shallow waters in the bays. All elements that caught paul's imagination when laying down heavy impasto oilpaints and translucent glazes in Sullen skies. Sanderlings shelter.
Painted on triple gesso smooth hardboard the painting has an edge butted wood frame for rigidity and hanging on the reverse.
