The metallic paints used in 'Study in Gold and Copper' will brighten any room. Blocks of Payne's Grey/Gray were placed on a gold background. Blocks of copper paint were then painted onto each of the blocks of Payne's Gray and dots of orange and off-white were added from a syringe. The blocks decrease in size from bottom to top. The overall effect is that the blocks seem to be weightless and be rising up from the bottom to the top. maybe they are evaporating. Or perhaps it is just a jumble of Christmas presents.
