I've always been fascinated by the work of Francis Bacon and inexplicably attracted by his "Study after Velázquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X", which is definitely one of his most powerful and dramatic paintings.
With my camera I've tried to experiment and see if somehow I could give back the sense of tension and drama that come out from all his painting and especially the Pope's portrait.
This shot is a triple exposure of a street in Central area (Hong Kong), with one of the shots being an ICM (Intentional Camera Movement), where I moved the camera vertically with a long exposure, trying to reproduce the gesture of Bacon's brush strokes.
Due to the limitation of characters by Artfinder, the title of the artwork has been shortened. The complete title is: Study after an Hong Kong cityscape (Tribute to Francis Bacon)
Limited edition of 25 printed on Hahnemuhle Luster Paper, 40x60 cm (comes with a white border for easy framing), with signed certificate of authenticity.
Available in larger sizes and other supports: if interested, please contact me for quotation (delivery time may be longer in this case).
Please note that the in-context photos show the framed artwork which is for reference only. As specified, the artwork will be sold unframed.
