Structured Botanics is an original contemporary abstract diptych by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026. The artwork consists of two 60 × 60 cm acrylic paintings on canvas, conceived as a single composition where architectural structure meets spontaneous, organic movement.

While creating this diptych, I was interested in the contrast between order and freedom. I began with broad geometric divisions—vertical and horizontal passages that create an almost architectural framework. Against this controlled structure, I introduced expressive white forms and fluid black lines. They appeared to me like abstract flowers emerging through an urban grid: delicate and spontaneous, yet strong enough to disrupt the order around them.

The two canvases communicate without mirroring one another. Forms shift from one panel to the other, creating a visual conversation between geometry and gesture, structure and nature, restraint and spontaneity. The central white elements can be read as flowers, fragments of vegetation, bursts of energy, or simply expressive abstract marks, leaving space for the viewer's own interpretation.

I developed the surfaces with professional acrylic paints using brushes, palette knives, glazing, scraping, dry-brush techniques, layering, splattering, dripping, and gestural line work. Transparent passages overlap more opaque areas, while sharp geometric elements contrast with loose, energetic marks.

The sophisticated neutral palette combines warm brown, chocolate, espresso, burnt umber, taupe, beige, greige, smoky grey, charcoal, black, ivory, off-white, and white. Subtle cool grey passages balance the warmer earth tones and give the composition additional depth.

At the heart of this diptych is a dialogue between two visual languages: the stability of geometric abstraction and the unpredictability of organic forms. Structured Botanics works equally well when interpreted as contemporary botanical abstraction, neutral geometric art, or expressive modern abstraction.

The two-panel format creates a combined artwork of approximately 120 × 60 cm, excluding the space between the canvases, making it a versatile statement piece for contemporary and sophisticated neutral interiors.

Both paintings are unique, one-of-a-kind originals, signed on the front and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Important: Both canvases are sold unstretched and shipped rolled together in a protective tube for safe international transportation. They will require stretching onto wooden stretcher bars after delivery.
