Street Scene Pavement is a painting on canvas made in response to the sensations and ideas of busy urban life. It reflects the noisy, crowded environments in which we live and commute each day, sharing the pavement with strangers whose lives, cultures, and daily experiences remain largely unknown to us. Everyone is moving with purpose, focused on getting somewhere, yet emotionally distant from one another. I wanted to translate the constant noise, motion, and visual overload of the city into an abstract backdrop of interwoven forms, suggesting the layered energy of the streets and hints of graffiti. Within this vibrant, restless setting, the figures appear disconnected; one man holds a sleeping child, introducing a quiet, intimate moment that contrasts with the surrounding hustle and bustle.
