Original artwork description
I painted this street in Cannes early on a warm morning, when the city had not yet filled with noise. The narrow cobblestone road leads the eye between the houses, where old walls keep the traces of sun, wind, and time. I wanted to capture not the exactness of the lines, but the mood — the soft light on the facades, bright spots of shop signs, and lively flowers on the balconies.
I painted with broad, thick brushstrokes, as if trying to catch the breath of this street. In every color there is a little of my admiration for this place — its calmness, warmth, and the simple beauty that can be seen only when you pause for a moment.
