I painted this wide, open marsh as rain moves softly across the landscape, light breaking through cloud in shifting tones. I wanted to capture that quiet moment where the land feels calm and alive. The paper I used here is very special - it is the last of the handmade paper from the mill at Wookey Hole in Somerset, England. Called Royal Wove , made from 100% cotton rags , it has a very textured surface which gives tremendous character to the painting. At 425 gsm it is thicker and heavier than most papers. And as it is only available from the gift shop at Wookey Hole it is very rare!
Original Signed Watercolour Painting, 15 x11 inches , painted with professional watercolour paints on Royal Wove 100% Cotton paper. Signed on the front. A certificate of authenticity is included.
Shown with a room mock up and various possible frame / mount combinations as suggestions . (Note that the painting is supplied UNFRAMED and with no mount - these are just suggestions ) .
I am a watercolour artist based in Wiltshire in England, my subjects are mainly landscapes , skies and seascapes . I love the transparency of watercolour and the way that it creates its own unique look on the paper as the colours run together. I particularly enjoy trying to capture light in my paintings.
I take great care to ensure that my photographs offer a true and accurate representation of the colours in this painting; however, all screens/monitors are different and often have some slight variation in colour balance. Please bear this in mind when ordering.
Please note: all paintings are sold UNFRAMED. I have shown a sample digital image of what the painting would look like with a particular mount and frame but of course the choice of mount and frame will be entirely up to you! I would recommend a frame size of 20x16 inches for this size of painting with a mount. This is the size you can see in the image of the framed painting.
Paintings will be carefully protected and sent flat packed by UPS or equivalent courier.
