- Still Life of Tulips in Vase
Original artwork description
This original oil painting on canvas is my own hand-painted copy inspired by the masterpiece of Dutch Golden Age painter Balthasar van der Ast (1593/94–1657), titled "Still Life of Variegated Tulips in a Ceramic Vase, with a Wasp, Dragonfly, Butterfly and Lizard" (1625).
Van der Ast is one of my favorite artists, and over the years I have created many studies and copies of his works. Each brushstroke allows me to immerse myself in his exquisite artistic world—rich in symbolism, delicate natural details, and luminous colors.
This particular piece focuses on a detailed section of the original composition, highlighting the elegance of variegated tulips and the subtle presence of small creatures that bring vitality and balance to the still life. Painted in oils on canvas, it is presented in a beautiful, richly ornamented frame, enhancing its timeless character.
A celebration of Dutch Golden Age artistry, reimagined with devotion and respect for the master.
Original oil painting. Painted on gallery stretched canvas. The canvas is varnished, delivered with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. Signed on the front and back. Ready to hang. Framed.
PLEASE NOTE: The real colors of the painting may slightly differ from their appearance on your display!
