Still life
Acrylic on canvas
30x24 inches
Cloissonism, based on Japanese ukiyo-e woodcuts, was a style developed by 19th C artists like Barnard, Gauguin, and to a certain extent Van Gogh.
Separating ('cloison' means partition) areas of flat colour with thick black lines, rather like stained glass.
Composition purely from imagination.
So let it be known that apart from that original sketch, no real fruit, bottles or any other household items were used/abused/injured in the making of this picture!
