Original artwork description:

The painting with the image of an old steamship "with character" was commissioned and painted with colored oil paints using archival materials and photographs. The image is made on a linen host stretched over a wooden frame and framed in a stylish frame.
Working to order is a common practice for me as an artist. Brings pleasure in the process and pleasure after evaluation by the customer. The study of archival materials expands my horizons as a marine painter.
I am grateful to the customer and friend for the opportunity to do this art work.
At the request of customers, I create canvases depicting a particular ship, or with a typical prototype of the era. Since there is practically no color material from that period, I chose a black and white photo of the cargo ship REIN while it was in port. Having studied additional archival materials, I prepared and agreed on a sketch and price with the customer. So, as a result, I created a color version of a black and white story.
You can watch a short chronicle of this story in the video on my YouTube page.
