Original artwork description
Study in Watercolor on paper, 14 x 10 inch ( 35.5 x 25.4 cm), Inspired from the popular Saint Matthew and the Angel ( 1st version) painting from the Italian master Caravaggio, completed for the Contarelli Chapel in the church of San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. It was destroyed in 1945 and is now known only from black-and-white photographs. The Painting will come signed, dated and accompained by a Certificate of Authenticity.
