Original artwork description
Colour in rectangular and square sections was applied over a week. With each session, oil pigments were changed and limited to six different tubes.

Squares - Researching How To Abstract The Environment Around Me: observation, colour selection, letting intuition and experience guide compositional choices.
When sketching on paper it is directly related to the physical world, whilst digital sketches are focused on balancing form and the details of colour. Each month one sketchbook along with 30 digital drawings is completed.
The recent paper and digital sketches are looked through and whatever stands out the most on the day is converted to a large painting. Sometimes the sketches are followed in close detail, other days they serve as a reference point to expand upon.
