Spring (2026) Etchings & engravings by Mariann Johansen-Ellis

£128.51
Artwork description
Every year I try to make a spring print to celebrate a glorious season, when everything arrives, the green, the flowers, the scent of sunshine and wet earth, so wonderful after a long winter.
This is a drypoint etching, the most free form of printmaking techniques, with a sharp stylus I draw on the copper plate to make my image, raising a burr that the ink can "stick" to, more lines means more burr, means darker areas.
I love the pastel look these prints have as the etching inks become almost etheral, just like spring itself.
I hand print "Spring" in an edition of only 25 prints as drypoints are fragile and don't give many prints.
The print measures in printed area 12" x 16" (30 cm x 40 cm) and the beautiful cream printmaking paper measures, 16" x 20" (40 cm x 50 cm) , this also means it fits right into a standard frame.
Please note you might not receive the number in the photo.
I ship from my studio in Denmark with many years experience how to pack my work so it arrives safely, see my many happy reviews.
If you have any questions at all, just get in touch, that is what I am here for! Mariann
