Aurelia was inspired by that first rush of warmth after a long grey spell, when the light shifts and everything feels possible again. I wanted this painting to glow from within. The rich yellow ground holds the canvas in warmth, while expressive irises and wild blooms rise and move across the surface with energy and freedom.

There is a balance here between control and spontaneity. I layered confident brushwork with looser, thrown and dripped paint so the composition feels alive and unfolding. For me, Aurelia is about renewal, quiet hope and that golden lift you feel in your chest when the seasons begin to turn.

This piece brings warmth, optimism and painterly movement into a space, while still holding an elegance that allows it to breathe.
