Spiritual Antenna (2026) Original Sculpture by Charlie Kamping

Spiritual Antenna grew from my fascination with the idea of energy: something we cannot see or hold, yet something we often feel.

I created the sculpture from reclaimed copper tubing and brass, shaping the metal into a structure that suggests both movement and communication. The sweeping curves represent a continuous flow of energy, while the upward-reaching copper forms resemble the elements of an antenna — receiving, transmitting and connecting.

At the heart of the sculpture I placed a natural Celestite crystal. Within spiritual and crystal traditions, Celestite is associated with intuition, inner clarity and spiritual awareness. In this work I imagine the crystal as both transmitter and receiver: a natural element held within a structure made by human hands.

The contrast is important to me. The crystal has been formed by nature over an immense period of time, while the copper and brass surrounding it have been shaped by me using hand tools. Together they form a meeting point between the natural and the man-made, the physical and the intangible.

I deliberately work with reclaimed metals. Traces of their previous existence, subtle colour variations, marks and irregularities remain visible. I do not regard these as imperfections; they are part of the character and history of the sculpture and make every handmade piece unique.

The Celestite can also be replaced by a personally chosen crystal or mineral, giving Spiritual Antenna an individual meaning and connection to its owner.
