In my painting 'Spiced Orange,' I embraced an Impressionist approach to explore the play of light on glass and fruit. Rather than focusing on perfect lines, I used bold, impasto layers to give the orange slices and the bottle a sense of movement and life. I chose a palette of vivid ambers and deep greens to create a high-contrast 'glow' that pulls the viewer in. To me, this work is a celebration of simple textures - the rough bark of the cinnamon against the slick, cool surface of the bottle.
