Original artwork description

I wanted to capture a fleeting moment where warmth and solitude coexist on a winter night. The glowing city lights and passing cars outside symbolize vitality and movement, while the teapot, coffee, and croissant inside evoke quiet reflection. The contrast between light and shadow reveals not only visual warmth but emotional depth. Through expressive brushstrokes and rich, saturated colors, I aimed to create a luminous atmosphere that invites the viewer to feel the hum of the street and the comfort of stillness.
I used an impasto oil painting technique, applying bold, saturated oranges and deep blues to create strong warm–cool contrasts. The light sources were built up using a combination of pointillist touches and layered wet-on-dry strokes to convey flickering night illumination. The reflective tabletop captures subtle warmth and texture, while the composition balances interior intimacy and exterior motion, enhancing spatial depth.
