Original artwork description

An energetic and colorful abstract with layers of movement, color and markings. It was done on heavy cardboard with acrylic and mixed media. It is finished with an acrylic protective topcoat. This piece is sturdy enough to be framed without being cold pressed onto a solid surface before framing. It does not need to to framed behind glass.

It is signed on the front and back along with the title and date created.

I name my pieces by what occurred while painting the piece: what moved me, what struggles had to be overcome, my mood, my train of thought, what the piece reminded me of, sometimes a song that was on and the beat moved me or the lyrics influenced me in some way. I never intentionally start out a painting saying “I’m going to do this, or I’m going to do that”. All of my pieces morph into something that is totally surprising and unexpected.

Materials used:

acrylic, gesso, charcoal, marker, graphite, pencil, paper
