Somerset landscape
The clouds fill the sky,
As I paint the view,
The uplifting light I still see,
Rustic and beautiful,
The summer fields of gold.

Words and experience .
I spent a morning painting with my ladies sketching group in a quiet place called Kington magna which has magnificent views looking from North Dorset to the Somerset landscape. It was perfect weather in late July and I found a bench near the church to sit down and create a wet on wet watercolour.
Original impressionist watercolour on hot pressed Fabriano 300gsm 140lb. There was a lot to take in with the view and much detail beyond. The sky inspired me particularly and the golden fields with the trees.
When I paint outside I feel I embrace the landscape far more.
