Artwork description
everything in nature is small world unto itself, home to a myriad of creatures.
This is an aquatint etching, that is, I have incised my drawing onto a copper plate, I then add a technique called aquatint to get the different shades, this technique involves a rosin and heat, and is quite tricky to get right. When the copper plate is done, I handprint each and every print from it, apply the ink, and put it through my etching press, a very traditional hands on way of creating prints which also means that us printmakers are allowed to call them original prints. Once dry I add some small touches in watercolour, so small variations can occur.
The actual copper plate measures 9.5" x 12.5" ( 24 cm x 32 cm )
I have printed the image onto a beautiful velvety piece of printmaking paper, very heavy weight, the piece of paper measures 15" x 20" (38 cm x 50 cm )
I have signed, titled and numbered the print in a short edition of only 40 prints.
Please note you probably will not receive the number in the photo.
I ship my prints from my studio in Denmark, with many years experience of packing my prints so they arrive safely, see my many reviews.
Thanks for looking, just get in touch with questions!
