SKY ADRIFT — light drifting between worlds
Soft light gathers and releases across the sky, as if carried by an unseen current. In this painting, colour moves freely—violets, dusky pinks, and luminous golds suspended in a quiet unfolding. Inspiration & Story
“Sky Adrift” emerged from that in-between space—neither day nor night, neither rising nor falling. A suspended moment where time softens. The distant hills offer a gentle grounding, but it is the sky that leads… shifting, opening, revealing glimpses of light that feel both fleeting and enduring.
There is a quiet sense here of being carried… rather than standing still.
Creation & Materials
Painted in acrylic on canvas, this work was built through intuitive layering, allowing colour to settle and re-emerge. The sky is handled with softness and fluidity, while the land below is shaped with more textured, gestural marks—creating a dialogue between movement and stillness.
