Silver Tidefields is an original contemporary abstract seascape painting inspired by coastal landscapes, shifting light and layered textures found in nature.

While creating this piece, I worked intuitively with fluid horizontal movements and expressive palette knife strokes, allowing the acrylic paint to build natural textures across the surface. The composition developed gradually through multiple layers of paint, revealing depth and subtle transitions between tones and textures.

The palette combines soft blue grey, misty white, charcoal and deep coastal tones, creating a calm yet expressive atmosphere. These colors interact across the canvas like shifting water surfaces and distant landforms, forming a landscape that feels both familiar and abstract at the same time.

Using palette knife techniques together with expressive brushwork, I created textured areas that contrast with smoother passages of paint. Some sections reveal thick layered surfaces while others remain light and atmospheric, allowing the composition to breathe and unfold visually.

From a distance the painting feels expansive and atmospheric. Up close, the textured surface reveals delicate details, layered paint gestures and subtle tonal variations.

With its refined neutral palette and contemporary composition, Silver Tidefields integrates beautifully into modern interiors, minimalist spaces and Scandinavian-inspired homes, where small artworks bring calm visual depth to a room.

The artwork measures 40 × 40 cm and is painted on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
