"Silver Sickle Moon" comes from a lovely birch wood near my home in the High Peak. During the Winter after a walk in the snow night draws on and at dusk the colours are beautiful. The wood is quiet with the dark tones and textures of the birch bark, it is soundless in the snow and the sky changes tones from pale yellows through to soft reds and pastel blues. An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas, which are painted white. A frame is not needed and it is ready to hang. I use impasto techniques applied with a palette knife, which creates a contemporary painting.
