Original artwork description:

I am drawn to the places where reality feels slightly softened—where nature begins to take on the shape of dream or memory. In my work, I explore landscape not just as a physical setting, but as a layered, living consciousness. My images often include narrative undertones that hint at the folklore and inner worlds that might be woven into the land itself. I’m interested in how we project meaning onto landscape, how we listen to it, and how it watches us in return.

In this artwork, I wanted to create something less traditional and more folklorish, incorporating native species like brown trout and digitalis, as well as manmade structures like the Salisbury Cathedral set upon the river Avon, which could also stand as the silent witness to watch over the actions of the past centuries, just as could the living beasts in their significantly shorter lifetimes.

Created with ink on paper, this artwork is rather large at 84x59cm plus frame which makes it approximately 99x74cm. The work has been professionally framed in black frame and white mount for a classic finish.

Materials used:

ink on watercolor paper
