Silent Triangle (2025) Original Oil Painting by Lilith Gurekhian

The woman’s elongated arms are deliberately stretched; they are the continuation of music itself, the prolonged notes that never truly reach their end. Her eyes are closed — she sings only to the silence within herself.
The pianist’s gaze is directed toward the woman, yet his hands touch only the black and white keys. This is a reminder that in love there is always a boundary that cannot be crossed. The gaze of the other man is heavier — he looks at the woman not as a musician, but as a lost memory. And in the background, the cellist becomes the symbol of fleeting time, always passing, yet always present as the depth of sound.
This is one of the surreal moments I cherish most — everything is prepared to sound, but nothing is heard.
For me, this painting is a story of how three glances can create the silence of love, the piano of memory, and the melody of forgetting.
