I wanted to capture the deep, pure stillness of a winter canyon. Snow-covered cliffs on both sides guide the eye toward the distance, while an unfrozen stream winds quietly through the valley, reflecting the faint light of the winter sky. I used blue-grays, deep blues, and near-black tones to create a unified sense of cold atmosphere. Broad, textured brushwork defines the rocks and snow, while softer horizontal strokes give movement and reflection to the water. Fine splashes of white suggest falling snow, bringing a subtle sense of air, light, and life into the silence.
