I remember the quiet moment when everything was in place: the glass vessel, the vase, the bowl, the lemons. Nothing missing, nothing excessive. The scene seemed to assemble itself – as if it simply wanted to be there, without needing a reason. The three lemons in the bowl felt like a closed system, resting within themselves. But one lemon lay apart, almost defiant, resisting the calm arrangement. The small wedge next to it is like an echo – something happened, but all we see is what remains. Maybe this painting is about that: balance that isn’t perfect. Clarity you can’t quite name. For me, it means stillness, presence, and a kind of focus on the essential. For the viewer, it might be a moment of inwardness, a reminder of what’s simple – but never dull. Something that doesn’t need to explain itself to make an impact.
