Original oil painting on 12"x 16" canvas panel.

Racehorses, carriage horses and horses used for horseback rides are pushed to their extreme physical limits, leading to high rates of broken legs, spinal paralysis, and fatal cardiovascular damage. Trainers also frequently administer illegal drugs to mask severe pain, reduce internal bleeding or to artificially boost performance.

Baby horses are often separated from their mothers at an unnaturally young age and are pushed through intensive training for horse racing before their skeletal systems are fully mature. Horses that fail to win or are no longer profitable are frequently sent to slaughterhouses for meat or other inhumane industries.

Humans think so highly of them that they think everything is FOR them. NO. Animals are NOT made for us to use or abuse. Not having a voice of their own doesn’t mean they do not feel. No voice doesn’t mean no rights. Not being able to say NO doesn’t mean it’s a YES. They are alive just like us. They deserve a free, healthy and happy life just like every human, every living being. They live WITH us. NOT FOR US. Say NO to cruelty.

YOU have a choice. A choice to be kind, to be cruelty free. To not cause harm to another living being. But WOULD YOU?
