Silent Passage

Silent Passage is an original abstract triptych consisting of three individually painted canvases. I created this layered artwork through an intensive process of building, covering and partially revealing numerous layers of color. Opaque passages alternate with translucent glazes, allowing traces of earlier stages to remain visible beneath the surface.

Deep structures, distressed marks and tactile details give each panel an almost architectural presence. Umbra tones, deep black, warm cream and turquoise accents are enriched with multiple gold layers. Depending on the light and viewing angle, the metallic surfaces appear restrained and earthy or begin to glow with a rich, warm luminosity.

Although every panel has its own character, the three paintings form one connected composition. Repeated lines, circular marks, fragmented structures and areas of color move from one canvas to the next, creating rhythm and visual continuity. The result is a textured triptych that feels mysterious, elegant and quietly powerful.

Each canvas is presented in a cream floater frame by Larson-Juhl. The narrow shadow gap between the artwork and the frame creates a refined gallery-style presentation and complements the warm cream and gold tones beautifully.

Because I signed the artwork on the reverse, Silent Passage can be displayed horizontally or vertically. The arrangement and spacing between the panels can be adapted to the wall and the surrounding interior. Hung closely together, the triptych creates an impressive large-scale statement above a sofa, sideboard or dining table. Displayed vertically, it becomes a striking focal point for a narrow wall, entrance area or staircase.
