The gaze of this little girl touched me deeply. I saw in her eyes the same profound sadness I have seen in the eyes of all children growing up in the shadow of war and poverty. Yet, despite all the hardships, there was also a small spark of hope that had not been extinguished.
Her green headscarf carries the color of life within the darkness, while the slight trembling expression on her lips seemed to silently cry out the words she could not say. With every touch I made on this portrait, I tried to feel and convey her story.
For me, this face is not just the face of one child; it is the face of all the forgotten and unseen children…
