I captured this photograph in 2015 in Moscow.
What drew me in was the contrast — the monumental figure of Charles de Gaulle standing alone against the repetitive geometry of the modern building behind him.

For me, this image is not only about a historical figure. It is about presence. About quiet strength. About the kind of authority that does not need movement or noise to be felt.

The rigid rhythm of windows creates a structured, almost impersonal background, while the statue rises above it — calm, steady, unwavering. I chose black and white to emphasize form, scale, and atmosphere, removing distraction and focusing on the dialogue between power and architecture.

This photograph speaks about leadership, solitude, and the weight of history within contemporary space. Printed on gallery-wrapped canvas, 90 × 60 cm, ready to hang.
