Updates and studio insides:
My name is Grigorii Pavlychev. I’m a contemporary artist who works in a modern, at times nearly graphic style. At the same time I’m trying to bring a fresh take on expressionism. I draw influence from Expressionism, especially from the work of Egon Schiele in an intense, and yet delicate, mix of abstraction and portraiture. When you first look at my paintings, you may find yourself peering out at an abstract expressionist composition or the quiet and moving form of the subject. The biggest challenge for me is to make you slowly exploring both sides of this dynamic.
From time to time, I like to change the materials I work with. I have a watercolor on canvas series for example. But the main medium I work with is oil paint. I prefer it for its fluidity, removability, and variability. I also use acrylic colors, but in a very specific way. I can find inspiration from an art book or exhibition, but the the best doping for me is music.
Born in Russian Siberia in 1986, I moved to St. Petersburg and graduated from Facility of Arts of St.Petersburg State University (diploma with honors). At my 30, I already established his own artist group, put on a solo show at the historic Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, became a member of Russian Union of Artist, participated Glo'Art residence for artists (Lanaken, Belgium) and attracted clients throughout USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
