The painting was created in Odesa Ukraine after returning from a trip to Sicily, which was actually an evacuation due to the russian-Ukrainian war.

The picture was painted in January 2025.

After the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, I had to leave my country. I was reached by a kind Sicilian family, I was safe and even had the opportunity to see an incredible miracle: the eruption of a volcano. This picture shows the eruption of the Stromboli volcano, which has become more active in spewing lava from its vent this year.
