Original artwork description:

Here I am practicing with a reddish orange ground, painting the trees from life but trying not to look at my picture too much, capturing the life in the tree line, and adding the barges later in the studio. I was inspired by the curve of the footbridge echoed in the curving roofs of the houseboats. It was special because I found myself playing with the juxtaposition of the organic tree line and the man-made boats and posts.
