Shannon 956 takes its title from the shipping forecast, referencing a recorded pressure reading rather than a specific event. Horizontal bands of colour move through the composition in measured layers, shifting from pale blues and open sky tones through warmer yellows, reds, and deeper blues. Subtle variations in texture and opacity introduce a sense of change within an otherwise steady structure.
