“Shades of Indigo” was born from a place of quiet contemplation. I was inspired by the natural contrast between stillness and depth — the way muted tones meet dark, expressive color in a single breath.

Each canvas (50 x 70 cm, acrylic on stretched canvas) carries its own rhythm. The left painting is built on layers of light beige, soft stone grey, and pale ivory, textured with palette knife strokes and delicate drips. It feels like a gentle pause. The right canvas brings a bolder voice — deep indigo and inky blue anchor the piece, brushed and scraped with raw white and sandy tones to create a sense of submerged movement.

I worked with both brush and knife, allowing the paint to run, break, and build naturally. These paintings reflect balance: airy vs grounded, delicate vs bold — all tied together by the richness of indigo.
