Sentir Bleu avec le Rouge (2019) Photograph by Hyun De Grande

105 x 55 x 5cm (framed) / 100 x 50cm (actual image size)

£824.63

In my photography work, I'm drawn to geometric shapes created by light or architecture, which I try to use to evoke feelings of sollitude and alienation. The use of the wide aspect ratio originates from my career as cinematographer, where it is more commonly used.

Taken at the train station in Toronto, where I saw this redhaired girl sitting by herself on a ledge, which drew my attention. While framing, I noticed the blue color cast in the reflection of the building in the background. This created a perfect harmony between warm and cool, and made the person feel even more isolated within the frame.

Printed on an aluminium Chromaluxe panel of 50x100cm, in a semi-gloss finish, characterised by their vibrant colour reproduction and very deep blacks. These panels are UV, weather and scratch resistant. Framed inside a wooden matte black floating frame, and they are ready to hang.
