Inspiration and Creative Process

I draw inspiration from a wide variety of sources – sometimes it’s a particular color or the material itself that speaks to me. Other times, it’s impressions from my surroundings or nature that find their way into my work.

Every painting begins with an idea, but as the process unfolds, a dynamic dialogue emerges between myself and the artwork. The piece starts to take on a life of its own – it changes, evolves, and sometimes leads me in unexpected directions. The original concept may step back to make room for new forms of expression.

My creative process is a balance between spontaneity and thoughtful intention. This tension is reflected in the energy and vitality of the finished works. They carry the immediacy of their creation within them – and pass it on to the viewer.
