I wanted this painting to feel like stepping into a garden where everything has grown a little wild.

There are leaves, fragments of flowers and flashes of colour, but nothing is completely defined. Some parts appear from the darkness, while others almost disappear into the light.
I love this feeling in nature — when there is too much to notice at once, and your eyes keep discovering something new. The bright pinks, fresh greens and blues bring energy to the painting, while the deeper tones give it a quieter, more mysterious side.
For me, Secret Garden is about that small world we sometimes find away from everything else — alive, imperfect and completely our own.
