Aston Martin achieved their first ever F1 podium in only their sixth race since returning to the sport. Sebastian Vettel drove an opportunistic race to claim a remarkable second place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. His consistent pace on hard tires, allowed him to leapfrog many with a long first stint, before benefiting from a late restart after leader Verstappen crashed out. His podium was hugely popular amongst the F1 fan base and elevated the classic British brand back into the racing limelight.
This painting depicts the crucial pitstop in Baku – the blurred pit crew resembling the intense speed of the stop. The AMR crew have fluorescent yellow on their outfits and this contrasts greatly with the dark car and pits, resulting in this exciting abstract composition.
