This is my original oil painting on a 12x16 inch cradled panel, inspired by the charm of colourful seaside shops on a sunny day. I wanted to capture that nostalgic, happy feeling of being near the coast—where the air is fresh, the shops are inviting, and there's always something cheerful around the corner.
The painting shows a row of vibrant buildings with stripy awnings, flowerbeds in bloom, and people going about their day. There are sailboats on the sea, kites in the sky, and families out enjoying the sunshine. I painted this in my folk art style, using bold colours and playful shapes to create a scene that feels lively and full of joy. It’s a lovely piece for anyone who loves coastal life, bright colours, or happy memories by the sea.
