This painting is inspired by the chalk cliffs of the South Downs between Eastbourne and Brighton in Sussex, England. In the work I am exploring darkness & luminosity. My work is arrived at through the layering of opaque and transparent colours, the repeated application and removal of material, covering and revealing deeper layers , creating rich and complex passages in paint.
This acrylic on alu-dibond painting is float mounted in a custom made white ash wood frame and is ready to hang.
