Morning, And The Mystery Painting / 10-inch X 10-inch Ready to Hang

In early spring, I sat alone on a quiet beach in Costa Rica, watching the light drift across the water. The tide was strong, the breeze soft, and the only constant was the steady rhythm of waves folding into shore. I found a piece of driftwood at the water’s edge and sat there for a long time.

I’m not the most religious person, but in that moment I felt something larger than myself — not dramatic, just steady. Calm. Infinite. Gratitude rose up without effort. Just to be there, to breathe, to exist — it was enough.

This painting grew from that experience. I poured myself into the driftwood’s worn edges and fractured limbs, letting the oil paint hold both its strength and its vulnerability. The rough texture stands against the serene sea, balancing tension and stillness. It moves somewhere between impressionism, realism, and something more dreamlike.

For me, it’s about resilience and fragility living side by side — how storms shape us, how beauty remains. There’s a quiet energy in it. Not loud. Just present.

Ready to hang, this painting is created on a cradled birch panel, offering a durable, archival surface with a natural texture that adds depth and visual interest. Measuring 10 inches square with a depth of 1.5-inches, the professionally crafted panel enhances the artwork while lending a sophisticated touch to any space. It’s a perfect gift or a charming addition to your home.
