Artwork Description

This original painting captures the vibrant energy of a Mediterranean coastline, where sea, sky and vegetation merge into a luminous, living surface. The scene is not described in a photographic way, but reinterpreted through a rich, gestural language in which colour becomes emotion and matter becomes atmosphere.

Using a palette knife and expressive impasto, I built the composition through layers of dynamic strokes, allowing the movement of the sea to echo in the sky and in the flowering vegetation of the foreground. The result is a textured contemporary seascape where light is fragmented into colour and every mark contributes to the rhythm of the whole image.

This work is rooted in gestural expressionism and in my personal approach to the textured contemporary landscape, where the natural motif is transformed into a vibrant emotional experience. It is a painting about immersion: the viewer is invited not only to look at the coast, but to feel its wind, salt, brightness and silence.

Ideal for collectors who appreciate original contemporary landscapes with strong material presence, expressive brushwork and Mediterranean atmosphere.

Artist’s Note

In this painting I wanted to capture the meeting point between land and sea as a place of energy and contemplation. The flowers and coastal plants in the foreground act almost like a threshold, opening the viewer’s gaze toward the deep blue expanse of water and sky. Rather than representing a specific place exactly as it appears, I aimed to translate its emotional resonance into matter, colour and movement.

Why collectors may like this work
Strong textured surface and visible palette knife work
Luminous Mediterranean atmosphere
Balance of serenity and expressive energy
Ideal for interiors seeking a fresh, vibrant and sophisticated focal point
